Youth and Government is a program with the main focus of creating a new generation of attorneys, lawmakers, and journalists, but above all a populace that understands the processes of law and the government and can make informed decisions with their skills. Youth and Government aspires to achieve this goal by introducing high school students across the country to the fundamental tenets that hold up our nation. Students can choose to be a part of the legislative program, creating and editing legislature through forums and committees, a part of the judicial system, working on cases while either prosecuting or defending a suspect, or a part of the journalism program, which documents important events, bills, and cases for the program, as well as important visitors to the program from local government, such as senators and representatives. In addition to their roles, there are also a plethora of leadership opportunities that students can pursue in whatever part of the program they're participating in.
No matter which branch you decide to pursue, Youth and Government provides valuable experience for the citizens of tomorrow, to make the right decisions for themselves - and for the future.
